A special "Thank You" to all the clubs who took part in Campaign Sight First II! The fund drive is complete and the Lions clubs of the world exceeded the $200,000,000 (US) "stretch" goal that was set. Now that that project is behind us, we can begin to turn our attention to the other needs of the world, the USA and our state of North Dakota.
Our own North Dakota Lions Foundation has now hit the $100,000 required corpus level and is able to respond to grant requests. It's first such gift in North Dakota was to assist with the Standard Grant Matching fund for Northwood. Our goal should now be to continue to "grow" the corpus so that we have greater amounts of annual income to use in response to grant requests for needs right here in North Dakota! I would ask that you do two things. First, I'd ask that each club includes a gift of some amount (any amount!) in it's charitable giving plans each year. This would insure that steady growth in the corpus continues. Second, I'd ask that you encourage individual Lions to consider including NDLF in their personal charitable giving plans. $300 purchases a Life Membership, while annual gifts of any amount are welcome and appreciated!
As LCIF Chair, I've already received notice of one Club's purchasing a Melvin Jones Fellowship for one of it's dedicated members. Having been so honored by my Club, I know how much that thought is appreciated! Please consider just such a gift for your deserving members!
Thanks for your continued heartfelt charitable giving!
